Lead Operations at Air Products – HYCO Supervisor Wanted!

Role Overview

  • Lead the HYCO Steam Methane Reformer unit and ancillary equipment operations.

  • Provide technical direction to operations staff and coordinate with Site Manager, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.

  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

  • Support startups, shutdowns, emergency operations, and planned outages.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance:

  • Maintain a safe work environment, following all company and industry safety protocols.

  • Utilize BHIG Basic Safety Practice program, including Safety Work Permits, LOTO, and Confined Space procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements.

Operations & Technical Oversight:

  • Manage plant production efficiently based on data-driven decisions.

  • Provide guidance for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and testing activities.

  • Participate in incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis, implementing sustainable corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate operational logs and documentation.

  • Ensure all CM (Corrective Maintenance) and PM (Preventive Maintenance) tasks are completed.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Coach, train, and motivate operations personnel to achieve operational excellence.

  • Promote a culture of open communication, teamwork, and results-driven performance.

  • Develop top-performing personnel to meet team and customer objectives.

Customer & Stakeholder Interaction:

  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align expectations and product supply.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through reliability, quality, and responsive service.

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact for internal HYCO unit issues.

Operational Excellence:

  • Facilitate productivity, reliability, quality, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct audits, assign actions, and implement mitigation plans for safety, environmental, and operational risks.

  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize plant systems and equipment.

Skills & Competencies
